Re: Master Touch Typing = Better Programming Experience?
I love typeracer dandy. Back in junior high a friend and I were always way ahead of the class, so we'd spend our time racing eachother on there. The kid was really smart, he was usually around 110 or so when we raced, and I was like fuck this, 95 wpm... Edit: This kid also dropped out of highschool ...

You know Ground, you're the person who made me really want to try 3D. This project was a big inspiration back in the day. Glad to see you've come back to it.

Re: SDL 2.0
I'm glad SDL is moving forward, but I'm tired of C frameworks. I'm investigating SFML to see if I like the API. I've recently started playing around with SFML 2.0 a bit and I have to say it's quite a nice library. Unlike SDL, it's not separated into a bunch of different packages you have to downloa...

Re: Master Touch Typing = Better Programming Experience?
Yeah, not properly typing is a bit of a roadblock in coding, as time spent typing is lengthened so much.

Re: Vita dev kits?
From what I've seen (note I don't own a psvita, all my information comes from just checking up on regular old PSP modding stuff) but from what I can tell the vita is unlocked and running code. As for the toolkits I don't have any information on that.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1613260297/shadowrun-returns You may know Jordan Weisman as the creator of the original Pen & Paper RPG of the 80's: Shadowrun. This also spawned several awesome videogames for the SNES/Genesis. Well, guess what, he wants to make another Shadowrun RPG for PC/...

Re: RPGS Past Vs. Present and influences for the future
in comparison with old school RPGs and RPGs of this day and age, i've found that when games lead you to moments of self-discovery it delivers more satisfying feeling of accomplishment and discovery. for instance, in the first elder scrolls i picked up and played, the elder scrolls III: morrowind fo...

Re: RPGS Past Vs. Present and influences for the future
I loooove the older DnDs. 4th edition is like playing a game. Not enough roleplaying. I myself enjoy RPGs that provide good quest returns. I like my items to make me visibly stronger, but I also like for the difficulty to move up accordingly. So my checklist would be: -Great Story -Nice art/music (d...

Re: Languages and linguistics
That's cool. I share the same problems as others on here mentioned. Living in America its hard to find people around you who are decent enough in other languages to be helpful in these matters. Plenty of spanish speakers, but their english isn't very good lol Actually that's the best way to learn l...

Re: Worst part of game development?
I think the hardest thing for me is probably motivation when a project starts to dull. You hit that snag where you know it isn't done, or you have an error, and you just don't know what to do next. I don't ever feel like I'm addicted to coding. I enjoy time with friends and other such things. But wh...

Re: Devvving on a Console
Dreamcast and Wii are probably the easiest to dev for I'd say. Well I don't know how the wii is anymore, I know it was easy a couple of years ago.
